The best cables are made of copper. Compared to aluminum and steel, copper withstands thermal loads well, is stronger, and has less resistance. This means that long cables made of copper are thinner and lighter than those made of aluminum. This is because resistance increases with cable length, and to reduce resistance, the conductor cross-section (thickness) needs to be increased. If this is not done, the signal may be "lost". For example, the conductor cross-section should be AWG 32 (0.202 mm) if the length is 1.5 meters, AWG 30 (0.255 mm) if the length is 3 meters, and AWG 26 (0.405 mm) if the length is 5 meters.
